How can I access resources in NH

  • Dartmouth students who are classified as active in Banner, and remain in NH, continue to have access to services at the Dartmouth College Health Service (DCHS) while on a leave or off term.   
    • For mental health concerns:
      • For non-emergent concerns, students should book a "triage" appointment with the Counseling Center (603-646-9442).  The evaluating counselor will determine whether care should be provided at DCHS or referred to a community counselor. 
      • If it is determined care should be provided at DCHS, students will need to enroll into the Health Service Eligibility Program, and pay the assoicated fee, to continue services for the duration of the term.
      • Beginning Nov. 1, 2022, you will also have access to free, unlimited teletherapy services through Uwill.
      • You have 24/7/365 access to crisis mental health support by calling 603-646-9442. If calling outside of regular business hours, students will be directed to press 1 to access crisis services
    • For physical health concerns:
      • Students may be seen at DCHS and either
        • Be charged fee for service
          • The current office visit fee is $110.00 per visit and is updated each September 1.   
            • The Dartmouth Student Group Health Plan (DSGHP) reimburses 100% of the office visit fees for it's members.
            • Students with outside insurance may submit an invoice to their health plan/insurance for possible out of network reimbursement. 
        • Enroll into the Health Service Eligibility Program, and pay the assoicated fee, to continue services for the duration of the term.
      • Students who have an established relationship with a DCHS provider for an ongoing problem may also secure message that provider as needed.

      • You may also choose to be seen by another local provider.
        • Dartmouth Student Group Health (DSGHP) Members
          • You should call the number on the back of your identification card to locate an in-network provider.  You can also go to the Cigna directory (https://hcpdirectory.cigna.com/web/public/consumer/directory/search?consumerCode=HDC001);
          • If you choose to be seen by an out of network provider,
            • Some will bill the plan directly, the benefit level will be different in network v. out of network. 
            • Some providers may bill you directly, and give you the bill to submit to Wellfleet for payment, and
            • Some will require you pay the entire bill upfront whereby you would then submit their paid invoice to Wellfleet for reimbursement.
        • For other health plan and insurance carriers, you should refer to the information for your plan, generally located on the back of your identification card.
