The Dartmouth Student Health Service provides medical services for all enrolled students.
Our medical staff includes physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, medical assistants, and radiology technicians. We support the health and well-being of students using a patient-centered, team-based, primary care model.
Students commonly come to see us for:
- Primary care services
- Annual check-ups and preventive screenings
- Care for illnesses and injuries
- Chronic health concerns
- Non-urgent health concerns (e.g., skin problems, back or joint pain, sleep problems)
- Medication prescription and management
- Management of chronic health concerns
- Lab work
- X-rays
- Allergy shots
- Immunizations
- Annual flu shots
- Sexual health care including contraception (pills, IUDs, Nexplanon), and sexually transmitted infection (STI) screenings, treatment, and management
- Gynecologic exams and pap smears
- Sports medicine services and sports clearance and cardiac screening for NCAA student athletes
- Travel consultations
- Physical therapy
- Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, Spirometry, Electrocardiogram (EKG)
- Referrals to specialty care
- Information on nutrition and eating well at Dartmouth
- Education and consultation for students with concerns regarding the use of alcohol or other drugs
