The infirmary is open 24/7 during Fall, Winter, and Spring terms and closed during during summer and intersessions.

The infirmary staffs two Registered Nurses who provide care for students staying on the unit. In addition, nurses provide 24-hour telephone medical and mental health related advice. Outside of business hours, when primary care and counseling offices are closed, nurses can offer a first line of assessment and evaluation.

A medical provider and mental health counselor are available either on-site or on-call at all times.

Effective September 8, 2023, Dartmouth elimiated all fees related to overnight stays.

Reasons for Admissions:

• Post-surgerical care
• Sleep regulation
• Cold, flu, or stomach symptoms
• Intoxication
• Mental health support for mild to moderate anxiety or depression

 If you are a provider who would like to refer a Dartmouth student to stay in the infirmary, please note that the infirmary is not a locked unit.
