How to your DSGHP
Referrals from Dartmouth College Health Service are required for Preventive Services in the Hanover NH area. Outside of the Hanover NH area, this referral is not required. Preventive services are only covered in-network.
Without a referral, preventive services will fall to the out-of-network level, resulting in no coverage. Please see lists of preventive care services that require this referral:
Finding In-Network / Participating Providers:
When seeking medial or mental health care in the United States, you will pay less out-of-pocket by seeing a Cigna OAP provider / facility.
- Go to www.cigna.com to access Cigna's Provider Network. Do not log in, as we are not a Cigna plan we only use the network of providers.
- At the top, click on "Find a Doctor"
- Click on "Employer or School" under "How are you Covered?"
- Enter required information and choose your search type
- On the pop-up screen, choose "Continue as guest"
- Click continue, then choose "Open Access Plus, OA plus, Choice Fund OA Plus"
- Preferred Pharmacy Benefits
Show your provider a copy of your insurance ID card.
How to Access Your DSGHP ID Card
You can use your DSGHP at any in-network or out-of-network medical/mental health provider, or pharmacy, that accepts insurance in the United States. Seeing an in-network provider is a lower cost option than seeing an out-of-network provider.
Outside of the United States and its territories, where no Cigna OAP network providers exist, services will be considered out-of-network.
In-network providers will most likely bill the insurance directly and you will only be charged your portion of the bill. When seeing an out-of-network provider, you may have to pay for your services in full and then submit a claim for reimbursement.
