Our 10-bed Inpatient Department (IPD) is a comfortable home-like environment providing 24-hour care to students with medical, post-surgical and mental health diagnoses. Both medical and counseling providers make daily rounds on all inpatients and are available on call after hours for consultation.
The Inpatient Department is open during the Fall, Winter, and Spring terms. We are closed during summer and intersessions.
In addition to caring for the students staying in the unit, the nurses provide 24-hour telephone advice and after hour triage assessments. We can be reached at 603-646-9440.
The IPD is staffed with two nurses per shift. A Dartmouth College Health Service physician and counselor are available either on-site or on-call at all times.
