Health Service Eligibility

Student Eligibility

All Dartmouth students who are classified as active in the student information system (Banner), including those not taking classes or who are on a leave/off term, are eligible for services and treatments provided by the Health Service.  Health Service eligibility is dependent upon student status, not insurance coverage, students who waive the Dartmouth Student Group Health Plan are still eligible to receive services and treatments at the Health Service.  All students must comply with the College's health insurance and pre-arrival medical requirements.

When Eligibility Begins

Students whose first term is fall, eligibility to receive services and treatments at the Health Service begins August 1.  For students whose first term is winter, spring or summer their eligibility begins the day prior to their first day of classes.

Students who are required to be on campus as part of a College sponsored program, regardless of the time of year, are eligible for care at the Health Service.

When Eligibility Ends

Eligibility to receive services and treatments at the Health Service ends when the student graduates or enrollment at Dartmouth College is terminated by withdrawal or separation.  Students will continue to be eligible until the first day of the term following their separation.
