Prescriptions

Will you be starting as a new student at Dartmouth? Whether you are coming in as a first year, graduate student, or otherwise, please reach out to us before your arrival to let us know:

• what medications you are taking, so that we can ensure to stock what you need!
• if you have any prescriptions at your home/local pharmacy that need to be transferred our way!
• any other needs or requests you may have of the pharmacy!

Dartmouth Health Retail & Specialty Pharmacy Services are the preferred pharmacies for the DSGHP student insurance. Our locations include:

Prescriptions can be called in, e-prescribed, or faxed to (884) 771-0140 by your provider. They can also be dropped off in person, or transferred from another pharmacy. 

Refills can be requested ahead of time by using our pharmacy app, email, or phone (603) 646-9456.

• With the mobile app, you will have a list of your prescriptions to refill from, or you can simply scan the barcode on your prescription lable.
• Calling in by phone will prompt you to enter your prescription number. 
• If you are requesting a refill via email, please send your full name and the name of your medication. 

If a prescription has no refills remaining, you may need to reach out to your provider, or schedule an appointment for a new prescription. Please call or email the pharmacy if you have any questions about a prescription that does not have refills.

Existing prescriptions that have remaining refills may be transferred to the Dick Hall's House Pharmacy from your local pharmacy.  Provide the pharmacy with the following information (by phone, email, or in person):

• your name and date of birth
• the previous pharmacy's name, address, and phone number
• the name(s) of the medication(s) and the prescription number(s)

Please allow up to 24 hours for the transfer process.

If you need to transfer a prescription from another Dartmouth Health Pharmacy location (Centerra Pharmacy, D-H Pharmacy Home Delivery, Cheshire Medical Center Pharmacy), the fastest way is to download our pharmacy mobile app. You may also call the pharmacy for assistance. 

To transfer prescriptions from Dick Hall's House Pharmacy to another pharmacy, please have the receiving pharmacy call us at (603) 646-9456. We will be happy to assist with transferring any remaining refills.

Please Note: Some classes of medications cannot be transferred per New Hampshire law.
