Mindfulness of Art - Rackstraw Downes (5 min)

The artwork used in this meditation is from the artist Rackstraw Downes* and is oil on canvas. You can find this painting at the Hood Museum of Art, Dartmouth: Purchased through the Robert J. Strasenburgh II 1942 Fund; P.997.33.1

    This is a longer version of the meditation on Downes' oil on canvas 1995 painting.  It is especially nice for those of you who would like to go a bit deeper with this piece of artwork.

  • Loving-Kindness Meditation for Resiliency (4.5 min)
    A brief meditation to invite compassion, perspective, and strength into our lives through the silent repetition phrases of goodwill.
     
  • Meditation for Activists & Caretakers (6 min)
    This meditation is for anyone feeling emotionally, mentally, or spiritually exhausted and on the verge of burning out. It is particularly well-suited for anyone doing activist work or caring for others in some capacity. We invite you to allow this pause to be one of renewal and compassion for yourself so that you can continue to do the good work that you do.
