Michael Krass has been practicing and teaching individuals and groups in mindfulness, meditation, and trauma-informed awareness practices for over 15 years. He has developed and led programs for institutions including the University of Southern California (USC), Rutgers University, Missouri State University, and West LA College. At USC, Michael created innovative courses such as Mindful Creativity and Mindful Photography. His work spans university students, faculty, and staff, as well as corporate teams, nonprofits, and leadership cohorts—helping people reconnect through deep knowing, build resilience, and lead more fulfilling lives.
Michael draws from a rich tapestry of teachings, including the Buddhist Theravada and Mahayana traditions, Chan (Zen) and other wisdom traditions, as well as psychology, theater, and martial arts. He is a Certified Professional Coach (CPC) and trains instructors through the Modern Meditation Teacher Trainer program. His approach integrates trauma-informed practices, neuroscience, Chi Gung, and breathwork, informed by his background in theater and film, bringing an experiential teaching style that explores mindfulness as a transformative and practical way of being.
When not teaching or writing, Michael enjoys working on his vintage BSA motorcycle, cooking, spending time in nature, and diving into creative projects, and finding inspiration in everyday life. He loves connecting with people from all walks of life.
