An interactive 2-day workshop to build basic proficiency in Motivational Interviewing, a collaborative communication style for supporting individuals through growth & change.
The Student Wellness Center, with support from the Division of Student Affairs and the Dialogue Project, offers this intensive, interactive (and fun!) two-day workshop aimed at building basic proficiency in Motivational Interviewing (MI). MI is a collaborative communication style for supporting individuals through growth and change.
MI trainings are named in Dartmouth's Commitment to Care strategic plan as “effective skill-building trainings that support high-quality mentoring, advising, and teaching.”
This evidence-based approach has broad application for working with students (and others) and can be an instrumental tool for advisors, coaches, facilitators, and educators.
The training is free and open to the entire Dartmouth community. Morning refreshments, snacks, and lunch will be provided.
Facilitated by Caitlin Barthelmes, member of the MI Network of Trainers and LB White of the Student Wellness Center.
Events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.
