Policy Statement

When using a Dartmouth purchasing card to buy supplies for an event, there are a few important rules that must be followed or your purchasing card privileges will be revoked.

Purchasing Cards CANNOT be used for:

  • purchase of $2,500 or greater
  • alcohol
  • meals eaten in restaurants
  • travel expenses (airline tickets, hotels, etc.)

Office supplies must be purchased through an approved vendor such as WB Mason. Purchase cards cannot be used at Staples or other office supply stores.

For any purchase you make, you must retain the itemized receipt listing the specific items you purchased as well as the credit card charge slip and return both of these with the purchasing card. The card must be returned the day after you use it to make your purchases.

For more information, see the accounting assistants in Collis or your organization's financial advisor.
