Getting Started with Dartmouth Groups

Prospective Organizations

Applying for Recognition in Dartmouth Groups

  1. Go to Dartmouth Groups and use your Dartmouth Net ID to login using single sign-on;

  2. At the top of the page, click on the "Groups" icon;

  3. Click on "All Groups" on the right side of the drop down menu;

  4. Click on "Register New Council on Student Organizations";

  5. Complete the online form;

    1. upload your constitution;

    2. ensure your advisor has logged in to Dartmouth groups so they can be added from the dropdown menu;

    3. encourage selected officers and members to approve their selection via Dartmouth Groups asap.

  6. If approved for recognition by COSO, you will be given access to an organization portal in Dartmouth Groups. 

Newly Recognized Groups

Once the group is approved, an officer in your organization must complete the group's page in Dartmouth Groups. They can do so by following these instructions:

    1. Go to https://dartmouthgroups.dartmouth.edu/

    2. Use your NetID to log in.

    3. Once logged in, you should see your group under "My Groups" on the homepage.

      1. If your group is not listed, click "view all" to see your entire list of organizations.

      2. If you select your group from "My Groups" on the homepage, this will take you directly to the management side of your page.

      3. If you select your group on the "view all" page, you will need to click manage (next to the group name).

    4. Once you have found your group, you can make edits using the menu on the left side of the page, including the group Dashboard, Group Settings, etc.

    5. Make any updates as outlined by COSO during the recognition meeting.

    6. Add a logo/profile picture.

    7. Update members and officers.

Recognized Groups

Log into your Dartmouth Groups Account

  1. Go to dartmouthgroups.dartmouth.edu
  2. Select the sign in button at the top right corner.
  3. Use your Dartmouth Net ID to login using single sign on.
  4. Manage your account by clicking on the menu in the the upper right corner.
  5. Join organizations by using the search feature.  You can either search for specific groups by searching under the groups menu along the top or click the blue +ALL GROUPS button to narrow down groups by category or sponsoring department. 

Adding Officers

Become an Officer

To make any changes or mange your organization you must be listed as an Officer in Dartmouth Groups.To become the administrator for your organization, you will need to submit a request to a current officer of that organization. If all of the current administrators have graduated or left the organization, please contact COSO

Add an Officer

In your organization:

  • From your group's page select 'Manage' and then select 'Officers'
  • Click the brown +ADD OFFICER button and starty typing the person's name.
  • Click the checkbox underneath their name if you would like that person to get an email notification.
  • Click 'Add'
  • From your officers roster, you can assign people specific positions--or create positions that better match the structure of your group.
