About South House

South House is co-led by a live-in Residential Education professional staff member and a House Professor who lives nearby. In addition, the South House leadership team consists of four Resident Fellows and a team of Undergraduate Advisors (UGAs). An administrative assistant is also a part of the House team and student leadership opportunities exist through the House Executive Council.

Housing Information

Topliff, New Hampshire and Lodge, the residence halls that make up South House, have singles, one room doubles (doubles in the Lodge have full bathrooms), and there are a few two-room doubles in New Hampshire.

First-year students who are South House members will live in Wheeler and Richardson with other first year members of their House Community, in mixed class housing in Topliff and on the fourth floor of New Hampshire Hall.

What Type of Room Can I Expect?: Sophomores are mostly in one-room doubles, juniors in singles and some doubles, seniors in singles and the New Hampshire two-room doubles (only a handful of this room type). First-year students are typically in one room doubles, two room triples, a few quads, and a few singles.

Gender Inclusive Housing/Single Sex Housing: All doubles in the Lodge, where all rooms have private bathrooms, Topliff, and on the second through fourth floors of New Hampshire can be assigned to multi-gendered roommate groups. There is a single-use bathroom on each floor in New Hampshire, as well as gender specific bathrooms. There are gender specific bathrooms on each floor in Topliff and one gender inclusive available on the 1st through 4th floors. The first floor of New Hampshire is all women. Richardson is single sex by floor and Wheeler has gender specific bathrooms.
