Tapping Guidelines and Dates

Each society must submit to Greek Life a list of Dartmouth students (first and last name plus netid) that they would like to Tap by Monday, January 13th.

A junior/senior will be tapped if they have completed the equivalent of six terms of scholastic credit (including transfer students), and is in residence (must have an "R" on their D-plan) in the term during which they are tapped.

Tapping can take place between Feb 11th - Feb 15th.

Tapping will take place on Tuesday and Friday of the Tapping Week between 6:00 PM Tuesday and 12:00 noon on Saturday.

The tappee has until midnight the Saturday of tapping weekend to decide whether or not to join a senior society and, if so, which one.

All tappees (single and multiple) must inform the society representatives who tapped them from each organization individually.

Shakeouts will only occur for double taps between Sphinx and Dragon. In this instance, Sphinx and Dragon will correspond to organize the shakeout.

Each society's representative will submit a final, alphabetized list of new members who accepted taps to the Office of Greek Life by 4pm the Monday following tapping weekend.
