Tim O'Reilly '25 (Philanthropy Chair), recently put together an event working with various Native Hawaiian students to raise money for the Maui Wildfires. Specifically, it was a cookout featuring homemade Hawaiian food like Spam musubi, teriyaki chicken, fried rice, and fruit salad. There were also stations educating people about Hawaiian lei-making. Moreover, about 80 volunteers and 100-150 people circulated the event. In total, we raised $2000, but since the foundation we donated to (Ama OluKai Foundation, a charity that serves Native Hawaiian communities) matches our donation, over $4,000 will be contributed to the Hawaii wildfire cause.
