Currently, the Senior Society Council recognizes the following 17 senior socieites as Recognized Student Organizations under the Office of Greek Life and Student Societies. These organizations range from gender-inclusive to single-gender organizations. Membership in these organizations is a mutual selection process that is initiated through the tapping process and by the individual societies. A student's membership is limited to one senior society.
Founding date is based on historical records, not on recognition by the SSC. Palaeopitus (founded 1899) is a senior society that operates publically under the Dean of the College rather than the SSC; membership in Palaeopitus can overlap with senior societies within the SSC.
