Summer Application Workshop

What is the Summer Application Workshop?

To participate in the 2026 Summer Application Workshop, your graduation date must be December 2027 or earlier

The Office of Fellowships hosts the Summer Application Workshop as a way of supporting the Fulbright and UK Award (Marshall, Rhodes, Churchill) applicants. Over the course of the summer, we provide Zoom workshops, essay draft reviews, a weekly newsletter, a Summer Workshop Canvas site, and office hours (day and evening hours) to support applicants. We will cover everything from identifying which awards are right for you to how best to respond to specific essay prompts. Due to the high volume of applicants, this Summer Application Workshop is exclusively for applicants who will be applying in the year that they participate. Don't worry, if you are going to apply next year, we'd love to have you join us then!

As part of your participation, you'll be signed up to receive the aforementioned (digital) newsletter that will help keep you informed and on track throughout the summer! We'll also add you to the Summer Workshop Canvas page, which has detailed information about the process.

Important Note:

*Participation in the "Early Bird" or "First Step" aspects is not a required element of the application process*

The First Step Process

Don't think you qualify for the "early bird" form but still want to get a head start? Don't worry! We will be reopening the First Step Form closer to the start of the Summer Application Workshop.

For applicants who want to get a head start, they can participate in the First Step Process. This requires submission of a First Step Form prior to May 1st of the year that you intend to apply. Don't fret though! If you don't make the deadline, you are still able to participate in all of the Summer Application Workshop activities. The First Step Process is not required, though it can certainly be helpful. If interested, read more here!

The Fellowships

The Summer Application Workshops focus on a few specific fellowships: Fulbright (ETA and Study/Research) and the Churchill, Marshall, and Rhodes (collectively referred to as the "UK Awards"). Though we focus on these four awards given their popularity and applicant numbers, we also work with applicants on those fellowships whose timeline coincides (including Schwarzman and Knight-Hennessy).
