Churchill Scholarship

The Churchill Scholarship supports one year of postgraduate study in science, engineering, or mathematics at the University of Cambridge. The Scholarship covers all University and College fees, provides a living and travel budget, and offers the possibility of a Special Research Grant. Science programs are entirely research degrees with a thesis and oral examination, and applicants should find appropriate laboratory placement before applying. Engineering programs include two terms of courses, and a third research term concluding with a thesis and oral examination. Mathematics and theoretical physics programs are entirely course-based and include final written examinations. 

To be eligible for a Churchill Scholarship the applicant must:

• Be a U.S. citizen
• Currently be a senior or have graduated within the last 12 months
• Hold or will hold a bachelor's degree or its equivalent from a U.S. college or university and have not attained a doctorate
• Apply separately for admission to the University of Cambridge. University of Cambridge departments have rolling admissions, however, it is suggested to apply early to have acceptance to Cambridge by the time Churchill Scholarship applications are reviewed. Dartmouth requires that you apply to Cambridge by the campus deadline in early October.

Dartmouth's UK Awards process is designed to provide applicants with feedback throughout the process.
