About the Fellowships Office

As a division of SURFD (Scholars Programs, Undergraduate Research, and Fellowships at Dartmouth), the Fellowships Office promotes and supports opportunities for current undergraduates, alumni, and graduate students to pursue national fellowships that enable research, further study, language acquisition, public service, and individual development.

What We Do

The Fellowships Office supports all current students and alumni in the process of identifying and applying for US-based and international fellowships that further their academic, extracurricular, professional, and personal goals. More specifically, we:

  • Run information sessions every term to promote upcoming opportunities -- see our Events page.
  • Brainstorm with potential applicants to discuss their goals and identify fellowship opportunities that draw on their strengths and match their short- and long-term aims. To sign up for a one-on-one meeting, use the meeting links below.
  • Provide mentoring and feedback on application materials, both through individual meetings and through structured workshops.
  • Support faculty and staff recommenders through their role in the fellowships process -- see our page For Recommenders.
  • Facilitate the campus process for fellowships that require College endorsement -- to learn more about what this means, see our page What Are Fellowships?
  • Celebrate our fellowship applicants and recipients through ongoing stories and social media posts -- see our News page and check out Instagram.
