About the Fellowships

The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans (Soros Fellowships) provide merit-based funding for New Americans, immigrants and children of immigrants, who intend to make significant contributions to the US and their communities.

Fellows receive $90,000 in financial support over two years. All fellows are also welcomed into a lifelong community of New American Fellows who strive to make a difference in the world.

Eligibility

To apply for a Soros Fellowship, you must:

  • Hold a bachelor's degree by the beginning of the fellowship
  • Be 30 years old or younger
  • Be an immigrant or child of immigrants
  • Be planning to enroll full-time in a degree-granting graduate/professional program within the United States

Application Process

The Soros Fellowship application is completed through their online form. Applicants will be required to submit the below:

  • Resume
  • Essays (2)
  • Transcript(s)
  • Standardized test scores (if applicable)
  • Optional exhibits
  • Recommendations (3 to 5)
