Hertz Fellowship

The Herz Fellowship provides financial and professional support for potential doctoral students in the applied sciences, engineering and mathematics. Hertz Fellows receive up to five years of funding and have two options when receiving their Fellowship compensation, which you can read more about on the Hertz Foundation website.

Fellows will be a part of a lifelong community of influential and dedicated individuals who devote themselves to solving the world's most pressing challenges.

To apply for a Hertz Fellowship, you must:

• Be a college senior, first-year graduate student, or in a gap period intending and preparing to apply for graduate school
• Intend to pursue a full-time, in-person PhD in the applied physical and biological sciences, mathematics, or engineering at an eligibile institution within the United States
• Intend to direct your studies toward understanding and solving major problems that are facing society
• Be a US citizen or US permanent resident
