Fulbright ETA

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers students and young professionals opportunities to undertake international graduate study, advanced research, English teaching, or artistic endeavors abroad. The program currently awards more than 2,000 grants annually in all fields of study and operates in more than 140 countries.

The Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) programs place grantees in schools overseas to supplement local English language instruction and to provide a native speaker presence in the classrooms. ETAs help teach English language while serving as cultural ambassadors for the U.S. The age and academic level of the students varies by country, ranging from kindergarten to university level. Applicants for ETA Programs can apply to only one country.

Current Dartmouth undergraduates and graduate students should apply through Dartmouth College. Alumni may apply through Dartmouth to benefit from feedback on applications.  Applicants must:

• be a U.S. Citizen
• hold a B.A. degree or the equivalent before the start of the grant
• meet all of the requirements of the specific grant and country to which you are applying, as specified on the Fulbright website for each award

Review the ETA programs offered and read individual country pages carefully. Use your research to decide to which country you wish to apply.
