    Iman Ahmad '27 talks fast. There's an urgency in her voice, particularly when she talks about civil rights and immigration. A government major with a minor in women's, gender, and sexuality studies, Iman has been awarded a Obama-Chesky Voyager Scholarship for Public Service: $50,000 toward college expenses and $10,000 and free housing for a self-designed work-travel experience, or "summer voyage."

    Eliza Holmes'24 is in her very neat room in a suburb outside Athens. She's doing a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship and loving it. On the wall behind her screen, the nosy viewer can see carefully arranged photos and postcards. "I've always had a strong sense of who I am and what I want," she says. Early in her academic career, Eliza knew that she wanted to become a teacher. When she didn't receive the Fulbright ETA in Colombia she applied for her senior year, she went to plan B: a master's in education at Harvard.

  • Melissa Reyes - A Full Circle Moment

    Which was a problem, because she was suffering from a painful ruptured eardrum, and the tears made it worse. Reyes, a history and Latino Studies major, is the first in her family to graduate from college. Her work at Dartmouth, including a senior thesis gathering migration histories and immigration and labor stories from the people of Puebla, Mexico, was largely inspired by her family history.
