Life as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA)

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers students and young professionals opportunities to undertake international graduate study, advanced research, English teaching (primary, secondary, or university), or artistic endeavors abroad. The program currently awards approximately 1,100 grants annually in all fields of study, and operates in more than 140 countries.

The Fulbright English Teaching Assistant programs place grantees in schools overseas to supplement local English language instruction and to provide a native speaker presence in the classrooms.

The aforementioned ETA scholars:

  • Matthew Chen ('21) - ETA in Taiwan
  • Margaret Ferris ('22) - ETA in Czech Republic
  • Mia Nelson ('22) - ETA in Spain
