MGC Recruitment

Process

The United Greek Council is united by their aspirations to increase cultural awareness, serve the Dartmouth and Hanover community, and to maintain high academic standards. UGC also coordinates activities that uplift personal/professional development, celebrate the different cultures on campus, and provide space to actively work to promote a positive community on campus.

Each UGC organization accepts potential new members through a new member education process. Our UGC organizations start off informational meetings and recuritment events that can take place in any term during the year.

Rush/Recruitment is an informal week(s) of educational, social, and service-related activities to get to know members and learn more about one organization of interest. Organizations will host formal informational or interest meetings during or at the end of those weeks. Informational meetings allow individuals to learn more general information about said organization and Interest Meetings are formal meetings for those who are interested in moving forward with membership. At the end of an organization's rush week, they extend opportunities to selected individuals who meet the requirements of UGC and its national organization to pursue membership.

To be eligible for membership in a UGC organization, students need to meet all membership eligibility requirements through Greek Life and Student Societies.
