Stamps Regional Event 2025

This past winter, the Stamps Scholars at Dartmouth College hosted the Northeast Stamps Event, bringing together scholars from across the region for a weekend of connection, collaboration, and inspiration. The event kicked off on Saturday, January 25, with a welcome lunch, followed by a day of enriching activities including research presentations, a workshop on articulating the value of enrichment experiences, and a session on service learning and community engagement. On Sunday morning, attendees could enjoy skiing at the Dartmouth Skiway or explore other outdoor activities on campus.
The student presenters who shared their work included:
- Carson Goh: Redistricting and democracy: The Impact of Independent Redistricting Commissions
- Sam Scroggie: Experiences of Mechanical Engineering: Research and Field Work
- Nadine Formiga: Theorizing Energy Justice in Brazil and Chile: The Need for Just Energy Transitions
- Tristan Wells: Bison-Mediated Dispersal in Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi
- Kelby Greene: Renegotiating the TVA: America's 'National Proving Ground' for Energy Policy
- Derek Tang: Experiences of Computer Engineering
- Josué Godeme: Aja language preservation: Digital archive & revitalization project
- Catie Nemeskal: Development of Neurobiological Therapies for Social Dysfunction and Neuropsychiatric Illness
- Vedant Tapiavala: Deciphering the liver-brain axis in Alzheimer's Diseas

Many participants were energized by the chance to connect with fellow scholars and learn about their diverse research projects. One student shared,
"It was amazing to hear about different people's research and how they've been able to use Stamps to support a passion project."
The event also encouraged personal reflection, with one participant saying,
"What I enjoyed most from the weekend was the opportunity to learn from others while reflecting on my own academic and personal growth."
We're grateful to have collaborated with Northeastern and the University of Connecticut in making this event a success and look forward to future opportunities to connect Stamps Scholars across institutions!
