Program Information

Named in honor of President Philip J. Hanlon '77 and his decade of leadership, the Hanlon Scholars Program aims to empower undergraduate ideas and initiative. The program will support a cohort of 24 scholars who demonstrate a robust commitment to making positive change in society and possess the resourcefulness and creative thinking to do so.

Scholar Selection

The Hanlon Scholars are primarily selected pre-matriculation through the admissions process, with the Class of 2028 the first to be selected. To create a secondary cohort of upper-class scholars, we also accepted applications for six additional members from the Class of 2026.

Winterim Research Trip

Each Winterim, the Scholars Programs team leads the first-year Hanlon Scholars on an enrichment trip aimed at introducing them to a range of research disciplines through hands-on learning experiences.
