Undergraduate Research Week

A celebration of the many branches of research at the College

Undergraduate Research Week is a celebration of student scholarship, creativity, and discovery across a wide range of academic disciplines. Created and promoted by the Council on Undergraduate Research, it's celebrated by many universities and colleges across the country - including Dartmouth.

A week of events, activities, and connection

Dartmouth's inaugural Undergraduate Research Week celebration took place from April 20-24, 2026. Programming included:

  • A tabling event in Novack Lobby where students learned about research opportunities, connected with research librarians, participated in games, and wrote thank-you cards to mentors who have made a difference in their time at Dartmouth.
  • Research coffeehouses in local cafés around Hanover, with student researchers sharing their advice and experiences.
  • A work-in-progress open mic co-hosted with the Dartmouth Undergraduate Research Association.
  • A selfie scavenger hunt that encouraged students to explore research-related spaces around campus.
  • A screening of the Made at Dartmouth (MAD) Research Video Contest, which showcased the 19 submissions from this year's competition.
