Student Research Funding Application

Information for faculty about using the application system for SURFD programs.

Student Research Funding application system 

For information on:

  • Program descriptions and eligibility
  • Endorsement and recommendation forms for student applications
  • Forms to confirm completion of student research

Application status

When you log on to the system, you will see two sections:

Applications Needing Action

  • This includes all the student applications that require an action from you.

Other Applications

  • This includes any in progress or completed applications that currently do not require an action from you.

Faculty will still receive reminder emails to endorse, recommend, or confirm research but will also be able to take action by going directly to the Student Research Funding app. 

Faculty actions for student applications

To complete any action on an application, click on the project title to open it.

To endorse a student application:

  • Click Complete Faculty Endorsement Form to open a new window with the Qualtrics form.
  • Complete and submit the Qualtrics form and then click Endorse Application in the Student Research Funding application.
  • In the pop-up window, again click Endorse Application.

To refuse an application:

  • Click Deny Application in the Student Research Funding application.

To check the status of a student application:

  • Scroll to the Progress section at the bottom of the student application page.
  • You will see if application requires any action from you or if it has been moved on to the next stage. 

To complete the end of term evaluation/confirmation for accepted students:

  • Click Complete Faculty Final Evaluation to open a new window with the Qualtrics form.
  • Complete and submit the Qualtrics form and then click Confirm Completion in the Student Research Funding application.
  • In the pop-up window, again click Confirm Completion.
