Hanlon and Coulter Scholars Information Session

Undergraduate Advising and Research (UGAR) is hosting an information session for prospective applicants to the Hanlon and Coulter Scholars Programs.

Hanlon and Coulter Scholars Information Session

Both programs will provide cohort programming as well as grants of up to $20,000 to support experiential learning opportunities such as research, leave term internships, and conference attendance. Applicants will develop a two-year research plan with the support of a faculty mentor. Visit the Hanlon Scholars and Coulter Scholars websites for more information on eligibility criteria and the application process. Application materials are due July 15, 2024. 

Rising juniors are invited to attend an in-person information session to learn more about these programs on Tuesday, June 25 at 5:30 pm. Dinner will be served at 5:30 pm in the basement foyer of Moore Hall B02, and the information session will start at 6:00 pm in Moore Hall B03. RSVP HERE

Applicant Eligibility: 

  • Open ONLY to '26s (Rising Juniors)
  • Hanlon Scholars: Named in honor of President Philip J. Hanlon ’77 and his decade of leadership, the program empowers students who bring resourcefulness, creative thinking, and academic excellence to the many challenges facing communities near and far.
  • Coulter Scholars: Created by Penny and Jim Coulter ’82, the program aims to support historically underrepresented groups in STEM and prepare the next generation of leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
