Paradisus: The Thousandth Year was shot over the course of the past year and a half by Senior Fellow and filmmaker Rena Sapon-White '14. The film examines the complex landscape of modern Polish-Jewish identity and the tensions, triumphs, and nuances of the small but vibrant communities that have arisen since the fall of Communism. A combination of archival photographs, interviews, and supplemental footage comprise an hour-long journey of reflection and discovery; telling a story that applies beyond the borders of Poland to every diminished community that seeks rebirth and renewal in the 21st century.
