Pride 2025

Pride 2025 theme: "Roots of Pride"

pride_2025_logo.png

Our work and our joy, every day, are rooted in pride. Pride began as an uprising against homophobic, transphobic, classist, and racist violence over 50 years ago, and our existence spans as long as history itself. Pride has grown into a celebration of the strength, the community, and the deep resilience that is needed to survive and thrive in antagonistic times. Pride is a time for us to celebrate being together, deepen relationships, and remain united against injustice. This year's events are rooted in the historical context of what it means to be a liberated queer and trans person both then, now, and in the future.
Our events will also represent what Pride has grown into. As we have made incredible strides and progress toward liberation and branched from our roots in riots and uprising to incorporate celebration, we honor the legacies of our queer and trans elders with both our radical joy and resistance.

Pride events center LGBTQIA+ community and experiences while remaining open to all members of the Dartmouth community.

Pride is planned by a student committee, with support from the Office of Pluralism and Leadership. This year's committee was co-chaired by Elaisa Feliz '28, Linden Schaefer '25, and another '28. This year's logo was created by Emma Hwang '28.

This slate of events is possible through support across campus, including funding from the Special Programs and Events Committee (SPEC) and Institutional Diversity and Equity (IDE).

Our keynote speaker and MC of the event is Erin Reed, an American journalist and trans rights activist. She is well known for her creation of the Anti-Trans Risk Assessment map, using data to bring awareness to the range of state-wide risk that exists on trans adults and youth. At the event, Erin Reed will speak for forty-five minutes about trans legislation and the community's history. This fulfills our theme's purpose of educating people about trans roots and encouraging them to be prideful of all the work that has gotten us here now.

Breakfast with Erin Reed is a limited invitation event. Please reach out to Pride staff and co-chairs with any questions.

This screening will provide Dartmouth students, outside of their association with the Caribbean and the LGBTQ+ community, to grasp what it means to live in a heteronormative world.
