Author, photojournalist, and Brown University alum, St. Clair Detrick-Jules, will present and hold a discussion on Black Hair and Storytelling as a form of social activism.
Author, photojournalist, and alum of fellow ivy league institution Brown University, St. Clair Detrick-Jules will be presenting and holding a discussion on Black Hair and Storytelling as a form of social activism in connection with her book, My Beautiful Black Hair: 101 Stories of the Sisterhood.
St. Clair’s book My Beautiful Black Hair was published in 2021 as a dedication to her younger sister and as a source of inspiration and empowerment for her sister to remember the power and beauty of her hair. Her presentation will be held on Saturday, April 1st in Collis Common Ground from 12-1pm, with light refreshments.
*The first 15 students in attendance will receive a signed copy of St. Clair’s book courtesy of Visibility:2023.*
