Lyndsey Emmons (she/her) joined OPAL in September of 2024 as an Assistant Director supporting the Women & Gender student community.
A true New Englander, Lyndsey grew up in Keene, NH, went to school in Cambridge and Boston, and married a Vermonter. She holds a BS in English and an MFA in Writing for Stage and Screen from Lesley University and an M.Ed in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University. Her experience as a first-generation student and student leader shaped her approach to her work in higher education. Prior to coming to Dartmouth, Lyndsey was the Associate Director of the Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion at Suffolk University. There she trained and mentored the student Diversity Peer Educators and advised various folx on campus around identity. Lyndsey has also held student support and advising roles at Wentworth Institute of Technology and MIT. She has been an advisor and support for queer students and female students for most of her career and she loves fostering community and leadership among her students.
When Lyndsey isn't working with students, she is usually outside with her wife and daughter, cooking and learning gluten-free baking, and reading. She thrives off of strong coffee, anything balsam scented, creepy podcasts (but not too creepy), and good stories.
