Angélique (she/they) joined the OPAL team in January of 2022 as a Program Coordinator for Community and Leadership Development. They support Latinx, Caribbean, and LGBTQIA+ student communities with programming needs.
A Massachusetts transplant, Angélique earned an MEd in Community Engagement from Merrimack College and a BA in Sociology at Framingham State University. Her experience as a peer educator, student leader, and later a professional in FSU's Office of Wellness Education set her on the path of values-based community engagement and education. Other roles include Community Outreach Manager at Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts, Community Engagement Fellow for the McQuade Library at Merrimack College, and plenty of years in retail and restaurants.
In and out of work, they aim to build queer community that fosters racial and gender justice and sex-positive values, and is en route to becoming a Certified Holistic Sex Educator.
