The OPAL Staff is Growing!

As we enter a new academic year, the Office of Pluralism & Leadership is happy to announce that our staff is growing! Over the course of the summer we have welcomed two new amazing Program Coordinators that will support the programming and community building efforts coming through their respective advising areas.

Connor Vezina (he/him) and Lucrecia Calleros (she/her) have joined the team with eagerness to connect with students, and lead the charge in creating spaces that will both educate and celebrate the various identities and cultures supported within OPAL. Connor will be co-advising the Pan Asian Advising Area, and Lucrecia will be co-advising the Latine & Caribbean Student Advising area within OPAL. See below for their photos and biographies sharing a little bit of their background and what they are excited to bring to their work at Dartmouth.

Connor Vezina 

Connor Vezina (he/him/his) is joining the OPAL team as a Program Coordinator for Community and Leadership Development. He will provide support to the Pan Asian Student Advising community on campus! Connor began his higher education journey at Saint Michael's College in Vermont, where he graduated with degrees in Psychology and Philosophy. He recently graduated with a master's in higher education and student affairs (HESA) from The Ohio State University. 

Connor has a passion in working with students on campus and supported the APIDA community in his previous role at The Ohio State University for two years. Connor looks forward to getting to know the students at Dartmouth, create meaningful programs, connect with the team in OPAL, and to advise the Pan Asian student community this upcoming year!

Lucrecia Calleros 

Lucrecia or Lu (she/her/hers) started as a Program Coordinator for Community and Leadership Development at OPAL in June 2024 and supports the Latine & Caribbean student communities. 

Born and raised in Mexico City, Lucrecia holds a BA in International Relations with a double major in Diversity and Migration, and another in Gender and Public Policy from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico (UNAM) and a BA in Music majoring in Concert piano with a minor in Opera singing. 

Her career has been a bridge between academia, public policy and governmental areas. She has worked for UNAM, the Mexican government, as a researcher at Dartmouth College and international NGOs, always seeking to create safe, collaborative and cross-communication spaces. 

By joining the OPAL team, Lucrecia seeks to promote the creation of safe spaces, the empowerment of the student community and to share conversations that move us. 

Outside of OPAL, Lucrecia enjoys traveling, creating music, cooking, going to therapy and spending time with her family.
