The Black Welcome Invocation marks the beginning of the fall term and a welcome into the Black community by staff, faculty, and returning students.
The Pan Asian Community Welcome is an informal event for new and returning students. Students have an opportunity to connect with staff and faculty and learn about student organizations and opportunities to get involved on campus.
The Feminist/Womanist Social is a space for new and returning students to connect over shared interests and learn about opportunities for involvement during the fall term.
The International Community Social is a casual social event following International Pre-Orientation. Students are invited to connect with other members of the community over refreshments and conversation.
The LCHC Kickoff BBQ is both a community welcome and the first event of Latinx Heritage Month. New and returning students have the opportunity to connect with staff and faculty who have prepared a delicious assortment of authentic Latinx food as well as learn about student organizations and opportunities to get involved with the LCHC Celebration.
The LGBTQIA+ Social is an opportunity for community members to welcome new students and highlight ways to get involved throughout the year.
The Queer People of Color Social is one of OPAL’s intersectional community socials. New and returning students gather to share experiences and form connections for the upcoming year.
The Women of Color Social is one of OPAL’s most popular intersectional socials. Students can connect with other members of the WOC community over food and creative activities.
