Interfaith LLC

The Interfaith Living Learning Community is a first-year LLC in which residents explore their own spiritual and ethical questions and learn about others' through a variety of programs with the Tucker Center for Spiritual and Ethical Living. All students are encouraged to apply – no particular religious, spiritual, or secular background is required!

About the Community

Living in community, students in the Interfaith LLC will consider their own worldviews, learn more about those of their peers, and develop skills foundational to interfaith dialogue. Residents will participate in Tucker Center programming and collaborate with each other to build understanding and interfaith know-how. Through thoughtful engagement and an intentional living community, residents will leave the LLC confident in their ability to articulate their worldview, communicate across difference, and organize interfaith programming.

Residents of the Interfaith LLC will:

  • explore questions of meaning, ethics, spirituality, and worldview
  • discuss meaningful topics with people from different cultural and religious backgrounds, developing respect and curiosity for religious difference.
  • engage with interfaith programming and create exciting opportunities for the Dartmouth community to practice interfaith dialogue and service
  • build strong connections to their peers rooted in trust, shared values, and understanding.

Residency Expectations

Members of the community are expected to make a commitment to living together in a diverse interfaith community and engaging purposefully with LLC programming. Expectations of residency include:

  • A commitment to creating a generative living space to explore and discuss topics of personal faith and spirituality, religious diversity, and interfaith dialogue.
  • Required participation in Tucker Center programs (regular LLC meetings, Wellness Courses, etc.), including planning events open to the Dartmouth community.
