DPCS Boston Community Health Internship

DPCS Boston Community Health Cohort Internships are partnered internships developed by the Dartmouth Center for Social Impact. We work with vetted, innovative nonprofits to design robust impactful internships.

Boston Community Health Internships introduce students to the human side of health. Boston has a long history of leading the country in change. Boston Community Health Internships enable students to continue that storied tradition of changemaking through full-time community health internships with leading nonprofits. Internships are supported by Dartmouth Partners in Community Service (DPCS).

About the Program

  • 9-week full-time summer internship (June 13 – August 15* these dates are subject to change)
  • Interns are provided a stipend that helps offset summer living costs
  • Interns are matched with an alumni mentor through DPCS
  • Regular professional development programming

Housing and Living Stipends

For our cohort internship program, DCSI coordinates and pays for student housing. The housing in Boston is dorms (apartment-style) with shared bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchens.

Because DCSI pays for housing, the stipend check you receive is for your transportation from Dartmouth to your internship site, as well as living expenses during your internship such as groceries and public transportation. The estimated 26X stipend amount for Boston is $2,800 (the stipend is subject to change each year).

Internship Roles

Learn more about our program and community organizations in the Boston Program Profile.  Students will not be able to select or express preference for a specific CSO or role. They will be matched according to the needs of the CSO and the community it serves.
