DPCS San Francisco Social Impact Internship

DPCS San Francisco Social Impact Cohort Internships are partnered internships developed by the Dartmouth Center for Social Impact. We work with vetted, innovative nonprofits to design robust impactful internships.

San Francisco Social Impact Internships introduce students to the cutting-edge nonprofit landscape of the Bay Area. Students engaged in these internships are immersed into this vibrant city through work with innovative organizations who create change in new ways. The Internships are generously supported by Dartmouth Partners in Community Service (DPCS).

About the Program

  • 10-week full-time summer internship (June 21 - August 30 *These dates are subject to change)
  • Interns are provided a stipend that helps offset summer living costs
  • Interns are matched with an alumni mentor through DPCS
  • Regular professional development programming

Housing and Living Stipends

For our cohort internship program, DCSI coordinates and pays for student housing. The housing in San Francisco is a student dorm that has shared bedrooms and bathrooms. The building has one community kitchen that is shared with other residents at the dorm.

Because DCSI pays for housing, the stipend check you receive is meant to cover transportation from Dartmouth to your internship site, and living expenses during your internship (such as groceries and public transportation). In 2024, the estimated stipend amount was $2500 (the stipend is subject to change year-to-year).
