The Emerging Leader Award is presented by The Native American Program in recognition of a student's emerging leadership through dedicated service to the Dartmouth Native and Indigenous community.

The Exceptional Community Member Award is presented by The Native American Program in recognition of a student's contributions and continued efforts to educate and advocate on behalf of the Dartmouth Native and Indigenous community.

Daniel Simon Award

The Daniel Simon Award is presented by Native American Studies for outstanding overall academic achievement by any Native or Indigenous student at the college.

Stacey Coverdale 1988 Memorial Award

The Stacey Coverdale 1988 Memorial Award is presented by Native American Studies to the Native or Indigenous student with the overall highest GPA. This prize was established in memory of Stacey J. Coverdale, Dartmouth Class of 1988 and member of the Shinnecock Nation, who tragically lost her life shortly after her college commencement.

Russell Prize

The Russel Prize is presented by the Native American Studies Department for outstanding writing in Native American/Indigenous studies by any student.

The Charles Eastman Award is presented by the Native American Council in recognition of a student's significant contribution to the social and cultural life of the Native and Indigenous community at Dartmouth.

The Exceptional Community Member Award acknowledges the investment and contribution of any member of Hōkūpaʻa. This individual has shown a great interest in the community and in helping in any way that they can to continue the community for years to come.

Emerging Leader Award

The Emerging Leader Award recognizes a younger member of Hōkūpaʻa who has already shown great initiative and investment in the Hōkūpaʻa community. This member is acknowledged for their time and contribution to bettering and strengthening the community for the years that follow them. This member may be a consistent support for the community, active attendee of all events, and/or helper in planning and programming initiatives. This member is also recognized as an individual who will likely act in leadership roles for the community in coming years.

Hokupa'a Awards

Paʻa Award

The Paʻa Award is intended for a community member who has been a stronghold for our Hōkūpaʻa community throughout their four years at Dartmouth. This individual has acted as a leader and integral member of the community strengthening it for future years, with involvement in IPM and Lūʻau, and in actively engaging with the community. This is intended to thank this graduating senior for their hard work and acknowledge their importance to the Hōkūpaʻa family.
