About NAP Education

NAP Education

Throughout the year, the Native American Program provides educational programs and workshops for the Dartmouth community. If you'd like to inquire about collaborative workshops or community presentations, please reach out to our email at: NAP@dartmouth.edu.

Please note that we provide at least one quarterly community presentation and will update public calendars accordingly. An inquiry does not guarantee our availability and we work with community partners to determine if our department is the appropriate collaborator for the engagement.

Topics for our public and community facing programs can include, but are not limited to:

  • Increasing awareness of Dartmouth's founding charter and commitment to Native and Indigenous students' to staff and faculty across campus.
  • Highlighting the importance of Indigenous methodologies and knowledge systems in curriculum and advising through presentations and reflection questions.
  • Develping cross-cultural understanding of historical Indigenous issues, as well as contemporary issues (sovereignty, recognition, land rights, MMIW, etc).
  • Advising on culturally appropriate ways to collaborate with Indigenous communities and how best to create and maintain relationships.
