Carley Malloy

Program Coordinator of Community and Leadership Development

Carley Malloy (she/her) is an enrolled member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. She has lived locally on Wabanaki (Abenaki land) throughout her life, building relationships with the land around her. Carley graduated from Amherst College where she majored in American studies (with a concentration in Native studies), education studies, and geology.

In recent years, Carley has been committed to giving back to her communities through mentorship and by working to create more equitable spaces. She has been a math teacher and equity leader at an Upper Valley middle school, and oversaw the BIPOC group for students. She currently helps to create land-based professional development opportunities for teachers in different parts of the country. Carley's goal in joining the Native American Program is to continue her commitment to student mentorship and equitable learning experiences. She grounds her work by helping others build relationships with the land they're on.

When not working, Carley makes time to be outside and active. She enjoys long walks with her two dogs, hiking, kayaking, and ice skating. She's often exploring places around the Northeast, but when home, she can be found starting a new craft project or reading a good book.
