Outdoor Leadership Experience (OLE) is a group mentoring program that empowers and educates 5th-8th grade students from Canaan, NH through adventure and discovery. As an OLE member, you would mentor groups of students once a week after-school. During your sessions you would lead a series of fun activities designed to foster mentees’ independence, leadership development, teamwork skills, and appreciation of nature. One of the program’s most treasured traditions is its annual camping trip where mentees have the ability to put their skills into real world action!

Time Commitment: ~7 hours per week.

OLE’s schedule is as follows: 7 - 8pm on Sundays and ~2pm - 7pm on EITHER Wednesday ("WOLE"), Thursday ("THOLE"), OR Friday ("FROLE"). Mentors must participate for at least two terms/year.

If you have any questions about YEM programs or this application please reach out to OLE directly at outdoor.leadership.experience@dartmouth.edu, or email the Program Manager for Educational Access and Equity, Miguel Barrera.
