About the internship

Program Description

The E.E. Just DALI Internship provides undergraduates with hands-on experience working at the interface of technology and design. This two-term internship with DALI Lab is intended to inspire students who support the mission of the E.E. Just Program to major in a STEM discipline and consider pursuing a career in technology and design. With applications open in October 2024, the two-terms include Winter and Spring Term 2025.

About Dali Lab

At DALI (founded 2013), students work in small teams to solve big problems brought to the lab by partners from around the world.  Student teams (software engineers, designers, project manager) follow the DALI process to build mobile tools, such as mobile and web applications, VR/AR interactive experiences, games, data visualizations, animations, and more. DALI is a job, a learning experience, a type of internship, and a community.

Eligibility

First-year students and sophomores committed to the mission of the E.E. Just Program and who are interested in exploring the interface of technology and design are eligible to apply for the E.E. Just DALI Internship. Recipients must be on a residence term (R-Term) during Winter and Spring 2025.

Benefits & Responsibilities

  • Lab Time & Compensation: During the winter and spring quarters, E.E. Just DALI  Interns will work 10 hours per week and be paid a part-time stipend in two payments per term.
  • Community & Professional Development at EEJP: E.E. Just DALI Interns are required to attend the E.E. Just Science Forum and Jam Session Wednesdays 5:30 - 7:00 PM throughout their internship.
  • Community & Professional Development at DALI: Throughout the internship, DALI will offer various professional development workshops that interns may attend. 
  • E.E. Just Quarterly Reports: At the conclusion of each quarter, E.E. Just DALI Interns will submit a report to the E.E. Just Program summarizing their scientific activities and findings.
