Nancy has made the Upper Valley her home for over 15 years and it is hard to imagine living any place else. Nancy enjoys the many outdoor opportunities the area has to offer including hiking, cross-country skiing and gardening. When the weather drives her indoors you might find her practicing yoga, making dinner with friends or ushering at Northern Stage.
Nancy is the director for the New Hampshire/Vermont chapter of the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship and is thrilled that the Center for Social Impact is its new home. Nancy designs and directs all aspects of the program that supports medicine and law graduate students in carrying out a yearlong, high-impact and sustainable service project that addresses a social determinant of health in an underserved communities.
Nancy has many years of experience working with organizations and individuals striving to make the world a better place. She is a consultant with New Directions Collaborative where she works with change leaders in nonprofit, business and philanthropy to enhance individual and collective impact through more skillful collaboration, network design and systems thinking.
Prior to that, Nancy led the Donella Meadows Leadership Program bringing together an international, diverse group of change leaders. Fellows participated in retreats designed to deepen their skills in systems thinking, reflective conversation, vision and engaging across difference. She has also worked at Tufts University where she was the Community Partnerships Director for the Tish College of Citizenship and Public Service. In that role she taught an assets-based community development course to Tish Scholars and developed a process for partnering with community organizations that provided both valuable learning opportunities for students and significant benefits to the organization. She was also Director of Education and Training at Second Nature, a nonprofit organization helping colleges and universities integrate sustainability into their curriculum, community connections, and operations; and Director of Operations at SatelLife bringing current medical information to rural Africa.
Nancy has a MA in Urban and Environmental Policy from Tufts University and a BS in Business Administration from the University of Vermont. She lives in Hartford, VT with her two sons.
