Originally from MA, Beck joins the Upper Valley with joy at the return to her New England roots and a deep appreciation for both the community and the beauty of the area. With a background in participatory learning design in and out of classrooms, she's excited to work alongside her team at Dartmouth's Center for Social Impact in the center's community-based work. Her DCSI role centers on supporting the Youth Education and Mentoring (YEM) programs as well as the Immersion Trip.
Beck holds a M.A. in International Training and Education (ITEP) and a graduate certificate in Cross-Cultural Communication from American University, and a B.A. from Syracuse University with a double major in International Relations and Women's & Gender Studies, along with a Spanish minor. She loves work that fosters inclusive learning and dialogue for learners and their communities.
Bringing over a decade of work supporting experiential learning programs, Beck has worked in wide-ranging learning spaces, including a NH Girl Scout camp, a trauma-informed residential school, a graduate program for international training and education, a peace center in Northern Ireland, and a university center delivering trainings to build resiliency against polarization and extremism.
Outside of the center, she enjoys reading, attempting to crochet, adventuring to new places with camera in hand, or just spending time with her doofus of a dog, Tucker.
