The American-Scandinavian Foundation

The American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF) provides funding for graduate-level study or research programs in the United States for up to one year for citizens of Denmark, Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sámpi, or Sweden. The program can be in any field. Cooperating organizations recommend candidates contact the ASF's cooperating organizations for specific information regarding eligibility, award size, and application deadlines.

British Chevening Scholarships

The British Chevening Scholarships enable students of high intellectual promise to pursue studies in the United Kingdom. Chevening scholars must study in the UK for at least three months. Most scholars already have a first degree and the majority study for postgraduate degrees, particularly Master's courses.

You must apply to the British Embassy/High Commission or The British Council in the country of which you are a citizen.

British Council Learning

The British Council lists scholarships, fellowships, and grants for students of all nationalities to study at British institutions of higher education.

DAAD Study Scholarships

DAAD Study Scholarships are awarded to highly qualified graduate students of all disciplines for study in Germany or complete a postgraduate or Master's degree course at a German university or institution.

Dartmouth Graduate Study Fellowships

For graduating seniors or recent undergraduate alumni, Dartmouth Graduate Study Fellowships will provide funding for graduate programs at Harvard University (Alfred K Priest Fellowship), or Graduate programs at institutions other than Harvard University.

Dartmouth Post-Graduate Project Fellowships

Dartmouth Post-Graduate Project Fellowships give students various opportunities: to pursue graduate work and a career in architecture, urban planning, land conservation, historic preservation, architectural and urban history or art history; or propose a well-conceived independent research or creative project of their own.

Dartmouth Senior Law Prizes

Dartmouth Senior Law Prizes are awards for current seniors who are intending to pursue a career in the law.

Erasmus Mundus

Erasmus Mundus is a co-operation program in higher education that promotes the European Union as a center of excellence in learning. It supports European top-quality Masters Courses through a Consortium of four institutes from the following universities: London School of Economics and Political Science (Economic History Department); University of Vienna (Institute of History; University of Wroclaw (Willy Brandt Centre for German and European Studies); University of Leipzig (Centre for Advanced Studies (ZHS)). Fulbright Foreign Student Program

The Fulbright Foreign Student Program is for study or research in the U.S. The Fulbright Program supports educational exchanges that strengthen understanding and communication between the United States and over 140 countries. More than 1,300 new Foreign Fulbright Fellows enter US academic programs each year. For application deadlines, please contact the Fulbright Program Office in your home country.

Gates Cambridge Scholarships

Gates Cambridge Scholarships are for students of outstanding academic merit and leadership potential from every country of the world (excluding the United Kingdom), who are committed to serving their communities. Applicants must gain admission to the University of Cambridge to pursue one of the following courses of study: a second Bachelor's degree as an affiliated student; one-year postgraduate courses; or research leading to a PhD.

The Gates Cambridge Trust intends to offer a substantial number of awards annually that will cover the costs of studying at Cambridge. Students from all countries are eligible. Students of exceptional academic achievement and scholarly promise for whom further study at Cambridge would be particularly appropriate are welcome to apply. Students need to provide evidence of their ability to make a significant contribution to their discipline, either by research, teaching, or using their learning creatively in their chosen profession.

Islamic Scholarship Fund

Since 2009 the Islamic Scholarship Fund has funded American Muslim scholars studying and working in fields with the greatest impact on public opinion and policy. Our scholarships range from $3,000-$10,000. Our goal: to improve negative portrayals of Muslims in the news, increase the number of Muslim policymakers, and invest in the creation of positive and engaging stories about American Muslims.

Eligibility:

  • Muslim or active member of the Muslim community
  • Enrolled full-time at an accredited university in the U.S. by August 2023; OR employed full-time in an ISF Supported Field and a part-time student at an accredited university in the U.S;
  • An undergraduate (junior or senior) or of graduate standing (master's, PhD, or law degree)
  • Studying an ISF-supported major
  • Maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • A U.S. citizen, DACA recipient, or permanent U.S. resident

Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program

The Knight-Hennessy Scholars program selects 100 students from around the world for up to three years of fully-funded support for any graduate program at Stanford University (including master's, MD, JD, and PhD programs). In addition to funding graduate study, the Knight-Hennessy program aims to develop global leaders through mentorship and experiential learning initiatives.

Microsoft Scholarship Program

The Microsoft Scholarship Program offers tuition and conference scholarships to encourage students to pursue studies in Computer Science and related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) disciplines. The program strongly encourages individuals from underrepresented groups to pursue STEM fields of study. Apply as a Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior.

Rhodes Scholarships

Rhodes Scholarships are the oldest international fellowships. They were initiated after the death of Cecil Rhodes in 1902, and bring outstanding students from countries around the world to study at the University of Oxford. Awards are made for a two-year period but may be extended for a third year.

An applicant must be unmarried, and remain unmarried during the first year of residence. The stipend covers tuition, travel, fees, and maintenance. Other Rhodes Scholarships are available for citizens of Australia, Bermuda, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Jamaica & the Commonwealth Caribbean, Kenya, New Zealand, Pakistan, Southern Africa (including South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, and Swaziland) Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Rotary Global Grant Scholarships

The Rotary Foundation Fellowships aim to develop leaders to promote peace, conflict prevention and resolution, or water and sanitation. Fellowships focus on academic training, practice, and global networking.

Schwarzman Scholars Program

The Schwarzman Scholars Program provides international students the opportunity to complete a one-year master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, and Business or International Relations at a new and specially-designed college at Beijing's Tsinghua University.

Courses will be taught in English by Tsinghua University professors as well as academics from institutions abroad. Visiting entrepreneurs, policy makers and thought leaders from around the world will complement regular classes. Each student will have the opportunity to work closely with a mentor from the Chinese business, academic, and government communities.

Scotland Saltire Scholarship Programme

The Scotland Saltire Scholarship Programme is open to Canadian, Chinese, Indian, and U.S. nationals to encourage bright, talented, and hard-working individuals to live, work and study in Scotland.  The award can go toward tuition fees for one year of full-time study on an Undergraduate, Master's, or PhD course in a wide range of subject areas. You can choose to study at any of Scotland's universities and Higher Education Institutions.

The Yenching Academy

The Yenching Academy offers students from across the globe the opportunity to pursue a one-year Master of China Studies degree program at a residential college within China's Peking University. The interdisciplinary degree program is designed to provide exceptional international and Chinese students with the knowledge of China needed to be global citizens and leaders. Classes will be offered in English and Chinese; international students can study for their degree in courses taught in English while pursuing Chinese language study.
