Congratulations AJ Taptto!

Major in Native American Studies

From Jenni

Miss Adrianna Jo Taptto,

Where do I start? I might not have been there during your first few years of your Dartmouth career, but I am so so thankful that I got to be a part of your last two terms as an undergrad. These last two terms that I've been with you, I have seen you grow so much. From all the laughs and inside jokes we had to the humble burns we shared as well, you became and inspiration and love that I, to this day, cannot even begin to describe. Even though you had so much hesitation towards believing that you were going to graduate, here we are today, celebrating YOU. Through good and bad days, you pushed and pulled life to carve your own path for yourself at Dartmouth and beyond. I know you still have one more term to go, but guess what? You have already proven to yourself that you have the guts, passion, determination, and motivation to become who you are truly meant to be, a badass womxn. This graduation is only one of the many more accomplishments that await you. I am so very proud of you, hermosa. You have come a long way, and I can't wait to see how you continue to grow and inspire others. Remember to continue believing and trusting yourself ~

With love,

Jenni, your special lady friend

Dear Slayjay,

You are one of the most amazing and uplifting persons I have ever met. You shine bright and bring light anywhere you go. I hope your path forward is prosperous and fulfilling, and that you are happy with the path you've chosen. The darkness you may have felt could not extinguish your persistence and the genuine love you have for your people and community. Keep slaying, Queen. You are truly an inspiration.

With love,
Micah

AJ!

Congratulations on graduation--I wish we could all be there to celebrate this moment as friends, but I'm glad I got to meet you at Dartmouth (throwback to summer and Mink Brook and when you put me on to the lime-flavored Flamin' Hot Cheetos). This was so well-deserved, and I'm so excited to see where life will take you. Hopefully I'll get to see you again when we celebrate in person!

Much love until then,

Lylia

To AJ (TapDance),

You have one of the best laughs that just gets carried on the wind. I remember when you found me in Boston at the airport waiting for the bus, and you gave me a piece of one of your family member's tradish cake from home. You shared stories and prayers. You also shared medicine and corn pollen with me in the vast forest of Vermont. We also held our own in the English class. You are someone who shares joy, and I am glad to have been able to share in this experience with you. Congratulations on your big day, I am so happy for you!

Until next time, Gusti Wynds

I am so proud of you shiyazhií! You never  gave up. I remember when we hadn't heard from Dartmouth admissions and you were just going to settle for in state university. I said  no, we will wait and we will figure it out. So a week later we got the news you were accepted! I was so happy for you. My heart filled with so much pride and joy, because this is what grandma Nan talked about. Guiding you, teaching you to grow. I knew I had raised a bright, confident young lady. I knew this was the path for you and I was ok letting you go that far. I know it was your choice to go to a college, but you let me chose too. Thank you shiyazhii. I am so proud of your accomplishments and all the hard work you put in! You did it. And I wished we could've celebrated differently. Thank you for all the people who looked out for you, guided you and stood by your side! And those who brought groceries and invited you to their homes. Congratulations shiyazhií AJ!! I love you and am the happiest mom ever!! Whoohoo YOU DID IT!!!
