Hi Jennie!
I'm so proud of you and all the work you've done over the past four years. Thanks for being my fly in buddy. We've had so much fun time together - trips, pre-o, INC, homecomings, cabin camping, hanging out at the NAH, suffering through Calloway's classes. I'm so excited to see what you do next in life.
Love you always,
Muriel

Awesome…This is your moment to celebrate because you dared to achieve your goals. It also means that you strived to turn ambition into action and reality. I'm happy to hear that another young YAN tribal student has worked hard and you have truly earned your degree. Even if you can't attend a traditional graduation ceremony, host your own among family and friends and celebrate your accomplishments with your best friends.

Native American Studies majors develop specific skills that are applicable to lots of different careers. These skills include foundational knowledge of American Indian policy, history, literature, arts, film, & environmental issues, plus a broad understanding of cross-cultural and diversity issues; and expertise in American Indian affairs, cultural diversity, & minority perspectives. Awesome because NAS was my favorite studies and I'm happy to hear you invested in these awesome courses as well!

I'm confident that you've had amazing opportunities and your new degree and accomplishments promises to bring even more chances for exciting experiences in the future. I hope you'll find a way to give back to your community in the future because the YAN needs new vision and leadership from the younger generation!

I look forward to celebrating with you and family in the near future…in the meantime, give yourself a big hug and remember that education is something that no one can take away from you and is something you have for the rest of your life!

Again Congrats!

Congratulations Jennie! You have accomplished so much at your time at Dartmouth, and I'm so thankful that I had the privilege of meeting and befriending you! I have so much respect for you - you are outspoken and steadfast in your beliefs, and you always take the time to engage with others. I know you'll go far - I just hope that we can keep in touch every now and then. I hope that you have a fantastic graduation because you deserve nothing less!

Jennie Harlan,

My family and I are so proud of you and your accomplishments! You have been my greatest friend and role model while being at Dartmouth. I will always be grateful that you were my freshman trips leader! Without your valuable insight, I would not be where I am today. Thank you! You are a beautiful, strong Indigenous matriarch and I can't wait to see what you accomplish in the future! Whether that is something in teaching, advocacy, or environmentalism, your voice deserves to be heard and will impact change for Indigenous people. My family and I will always be here to support you and we wish you nothing but the best in your future endeavors!

With lots of love,
The Snyder Family
